Türkiye continues to be a strategic partner of Montenegro
Ambassador Kalkavan thanked them for their openness and recognized trust.
Minister of Finance Novica Vuković and his colleagues met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye in Montenegro, Baris Kalkavan, and his team.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current cooperation between the two countries and plans for future projects in the financial, i.e. banking sector, healthcare, education, and the strengthening of institutional capacities.
Emphasizing his satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations between Montenegro and Turkiye, which is reflected, among other things, in the presence of a large number of Turkish investors in our country, Minister Vuković pointed out that the focus of the work of the Ministry of Finance in the coming period will be the preservation of the attractiveness of the business environment and openness in strengthening partnerships with reputable partners that will improve the valorization of the great development potential that Montenegro has. In this context, as the minister pointed out, the Republic of Turkiye is recognized as a strategic partner of our country, which is why, as he added, the cooperation should be intensified. With the aim of more excellent operability, further specified – the statement from the Ministry states.
Ambassador Kalkavan thanked for the openness and recognized trust and pointed to the investment attractiveness of Montenegro, which, with joint work, can become a regional centre for the largest Turkish corporations.
He reminded that the Turkish Chamber of Commerce was formed with this aim in mind and that the Turkish side intends to contribute to the additional opening of the Montenegrin market and the strengthening of competitiveness by supporting the additional professionalization and strengthening of institutional capacities, through projects such as the construction of the Training Center.
He recalled the interest of investors from the home country to invest large capital in the opening of a new bank on the Montenegrin market, as well as the construction of a highly professionalized clinic and university.
At the meeting, information was also exchanged on the status of the implementation of specific projects and experiences in the operations of the largest Turkish companies that have representative offices in our country. It was agreed that today’s very constructive conversation should continue at the level of operational teams to open topics addressed as soon as possible.
